Music typically used in Romantic Comedies

I am researching into music that is used in rom-com's as i would like to used that in my opening for my film, as i am aware i can not use music that is produce by artists at that would be breach of copy right so i have decided im going to look at different ways i can make music i have been composing mini pieces on Garage Band which i will upload soon when i can work out how to do it, also i am going to have my friend play the piano for me and i will record and see it that fits my piece.

I got the results of my survey back and a majority of my people voted for the radio voice over i have recorded and produced that, i shall load onto here when i can however i am unsure at the moment how it loads onto here.

Filming Difficulties

I have had problems that i have faced with recording, one of the factors was that where i had booked the camera they had messed around the camera distribution therefore i had fallen behind a day another is my tape had ran out and i used a memory stick in the camera the filming was very productive as i did it all however, when i returned to watch the recording back it had recorded in smaller resolution, therefore i am unable to edit on task. i shall be filming again shortly.

Matt: Its odd they don't even feel like my own,
(Laughter is heard)
Matt: Feel how smooth they are...

James: Yeah mmmmmm yeah they are.

Jessica: haha, Smoother than mine.

Henry: Right i've got to explain to our audience who may have just tuned in, Producer Matt had his legs waxed last night...

Matt: (heard shouting from a distance) For charity!

Henry: yeah for charity haha, and we are in the process of convincing James to have his done...

James: I am not having mine done... no way not happening!

Jessica: Go onnnnn

James: Ill look even more like a woman!

Jessica : haha don't you mean you do?

(Laughter is heard)

Henry: Right okay if you want Jane er sorry James (Laughter) to have his legs waxed later on in the show then text " Wax James" to two, double five, o, one

James: That's not fair at least let set a target like 5000 people.

Henry: okay then we will if 5000 people text "wax James" to 25501 then he has to have them done later in the show!

James: You have to have it done!

Jessica; it doesn't hurt

Matt: noooo it doesn't

Henry: Jessica you do it

Jessica: my legs are fine thank-you

Henry: ohh yeah, did you sort them for your date last night?

James: How was the blinde date?

Jessica: laughing Sooo if you want henry to have his legs waxed...

Henry: woah woah i didnt agree to that..

Jessica: so if you text in "wax henry" to 25501

James: i have 25 years of growth on my legs!

My Idea

My idea for my Romantic Comedy is to create mysterious and luring opening, i want the establishing shot to be of a hallway where it is clear that a couple have taken off there clothes in a passionate manner. The camera follows the trail of clothing that are lying on the floor and it leads the camera to the bed room where the door opens and it takes you to the bed where you see a girl asleep she gently awakes, she has make-up around her face to hint that she may have been out the night she is facing the outside of the bed she rolls back around to face the other way and curls into man(1)'s arms the camera pans up to his face and back down to her getting comfy he then turns to put his arm around her and she gazes up at him and its man(2) she leaps out of bed in shock and tip toes towards the bathroom she stands pauses behind the wall and you see her head peer around as she checks who she just saw, you see her head pop around then you see the shot from her eyes then back to her and its man(3) then the camera goes behind the wall with her again and peers over her shoulder as she looks again and its man(4). Its now creating an illusion that she may be in a dream like state but your unsure. in a panic she goes to the bathroom and closes the door where she presses her ear to the door to see if she can hear him, whislt she is doing that objects in the bathroom are used for titles such as the mirror having directors name on it etc.
To add in a more comedic influence she finally hears him snoring and carefully opening the door and steps outside into the bed room tiptoeing, the floor boards are creaking etc.

Up to this point there is a voice over of the Girl talking about true love, then when she finds the different men you hear her commentry through out it.

Bridget jones and Summer Finn Character profile

Known for: Her Diary, Falling in and out of love with Darcy and Cleaver, reading self help books, smoking and drinking, being influenced by her "urban" family (friends), misunderstanding things, making a fool out of herself and showing a humorous view on what a lot of women do/go through.

Appearance/Characteristics: Blonde wispy hair, rosy cheeks, plump face, plump body, flutters her eyelashes, wears tight clothing to attract her boss, un-fashionable, wears and know for her big knickers, doesn't wear hardly any make-up, puts on a posher accent when talking sometimes, Purses her lips together and tilts her head downwards and raises her eye brows, tries to keep her head held high alot.

Role: Second main role along side the man.

Known for: her disbelief in love, her non commitment personality, illusive, love of music: The Smiths, Timeless dress sense, live life to the full, messes Tom around a fair amount, mind games, the more man in the reationship.

Appearence/Characteristics: Dark brown hair, door stop fringe, shoulder length hair, sings to herself, raises her eyebrows alot, uses her eyes for expressions, Breaks men's Hearts, slim, curvy body, perfectly un-blemished skin, never appears to be embaresed.

I have look at both of these characters because i feel that they contrast a lot and they both have qualities that i want my character to have, I like the clumsy and dry humour Bridget has and the " i don't believe in love i'm being illusive" attitude... so i've got to see what works best with my actress.

Camera shots typically used in Romantic Comedies

Looking at camera shots that are typically used i have found that they tend to use quite slow sweeping shots especially for the opening, when they shoot the opening for a romantic film i get the impression that it is trying to transport you to this bubble that its set in and it does that by using slow edits and enchanting music. the shots tend to fade in and out, i imagine that quick edits would be appropriate for if in a Romantic comedy cycle you have a section where a disaster happens right before the happy ending it would be used to build and show emotion.
