Brief background on Romantic Comedies

Romantic Comedies are probably more well known as "Rom-Com's" This genre of film is a light hearted film and is often very predictable with its happy ending. The Genre of film creates a sense of ideology of a perfect relationship, in a way it gives a false sense of life and that if you are to "fall in love" everything else slots into place. Obviously Rom-Coms vary and arn't all the same but they do have the same structure and the same predictable outcome. These films are feel good films and often associated with mainly a majority of women who watch these, so therefore the main role is often a leading Woman seeking love fails a few times then finds out she is really in love with the man who serves her coffee in the morning. There is always a conflict of some sort involving the two main characters then there likely to reunite and declair love for each other. A Classic example of a Good Rom-Com would be Bridget Jones Diary a creative and very funny look into the characters life, also the character is ever so believable and i'm sure many women can relate to the things that Bridget does.
