Brief background on thriller films
Thrillers are not to be confused with horror they are both genres and both have some similar conventions. Thrillers are fast paced and constantly moving this genre is normally used for police detective films, films where you as the audience are also living the story and trying to uncover the plot before the characters do, normally they throw in cliff hangers, red herrings and lots of suspense to mount the excitement thrillers are not there to creep you out but to make you have a thrill, they are supposed to keep you on the edge of your seat at all times, keeping your mind thinking about all the possibilities. A thriller is a villain driven genre an the villain will provide things for the hero to overcome and defeat, one of the interesting parts of a thriller is the process of working out the villain. The Bourne Identity is a great example of a interesting and twisting storyline thriller.
